It's Been A While

It's been a while but I decided to post an update today. This is an interesting time for us as we prepare to say goodbye to Stan's mom, Millie. How bittersweet it has been over the past few weeks to sit around with family and revel in the past, telling stories and laughing til early morning hours. Painful to make plans for a future that doesn't include her smiling face and cup of hot tea. Joyous to imagine Millie sitting at the feet of Jesus. Millie only really asks for her momma now. I talked to her sister Debbie yesterday and she told me to tell Millie to go and find her momma. We will be fine here.

I can't say enough about our Hospice experience so far. The doctors and nurses here treat us all like we are family. The facilities feel more like a Bed and Breakfast than anything else. I am in awe of the care that they are providing to all of us. I will always be impressed by what is offered here.

One thing is for sure, taking this journey together has changed our family. We have all come together, thankful for how close we have always been and the time we have to spend together. This chapter of our lives has bonded us together and strengthened our faith and love in one another. Once again, thank you Millie.
